Success Stories
Over the years, more than 200 young Moms and a few young Dads have completed their education while we cared for their children. They have graduated from high schools, business schools, trade schools and colleges. They are all out working in our community and several states ~ all because of you, our supporters. You and I may never know all the lives that have been, and will be, touched due to your generaosity of spirit.
Parents In The Program
Kelsey
I’m Kelsey, I’m a single mother of three children ages 6, 3, and 1. I’m currently in the clinical portion of the Nursing program at Harrisburg Area Community College Lancaster campus. I will graduate December 2016 with my associates degree in nursing. I came to Mom’s House after applying and getting accepted into HACC for the Spring Term of 2012. In January 2012, a few weeks before my classes were scheduled to start, I started a frantic search for a daycare for my children. I was lucky to have stumbled upon Mom’s House during a Google search for a daycare for my children. Upon completing the interview I knew this would be a fantastic place for my children and I. I have come so far from when I started until now. It took a lot longer than what I expected to get to this point in my college career, and at many points I got utterly discouraged. The staff of Mom’s House was always there to encourage me and lift me up when I needed it most. I am so grateful that I found Mom’s House, and there was space open for my children. I owe how far I have come with not only my education but with myself to Mom’s House.
Louise
I was introduced to Mom’s House Daycare while attending Consolidated School Business working towards my Associates degree in Business. I am a single mother of four children they ranging from 18, 16, 2 and 1, my last two children were a huge surprise and I had to refocus my life and career to support them. Following my medical diploma I worked at a Homecare agency for four years and they restructured the company and I found myself going back to school to work on a new career path. I am extremely grateful for the support and guidance that I received by the loving staff of this program, without them I would not have been able to have a second chance to improve the quality of life for them. I was welcomed here with open arms and no judgment where my mind was put at ease that I am leaving my children in good hands. The children enjoy playing with their friends and I have noticed an improvement in the development of their social skills for which I am grateful.
